Fiber Types:
Nylon - has traditionally been the first choice fiber for many consumers. Long lasting and reselient, nylon has been the top seller for many years. It is available in all styles, textures, and colors. Only nylon carpet can be Stain Master protected.
Polyester - made from reclaimed and new materials which makes polyester fiber less expensive to manufacture. This makes it a great value for the consumer. You can get a heavier weight carpet for less. Polyester carpet comes in all styles, textures, and colors.
Olefin - known for its moisture stain resistance, but is only available in a limited choice of colors. Most berber carpet is made of pure or blended olefin yarn.
How density effects your carpet:
Althought heavier capets are usually more expensive, weight alone is not the sole indicator of quality. Density and twist are what really matter. Thick yarns packed closely together stand up best to active use. The tighter the yarns are twisted, the more they will resist showing wear.
